A make shift Brewers team started the season with a tough away game against Prestbury Villa. The Bonis Hall lane pitch had seen better days and did neither side any favors, with the unraked grass hindering amount of football that could be played.
Prestbury started strong having 2 goals disallowed for offside before taking the lead with 20 minutes gone. However, Brewers battled back to equalise through Ashley Flood. The goal gave Brewers a lift and dominated for much of the first half, hitting the bar twice, a goal disallowed and having a stonewall penalty denied. Flood grabbed his second of the game with 15 minutes to go of the first half, only to see Prestbury equalise from a corner on the mark of half time.
Brewers went down to 10 men for the second half losing Joel Hunter who had prior commitments. Prestbury capitalised on their advantage, taking the lead through a fortunate deflection that put Craig Scott through on goal 20 minutes in. The game however remained finally balanced with Brewers pushing for another goal, only to see Prestbury wrap the game up hitting Brewers on the break with 10 minutes to go.
