Brewers FC 2

Congleton Vale 0

Brewers welcomed Vale to Bollington Rec for a fixture which has proved troublesome for Brewers in the past, with Vale having won two of the last three encounters.

Vale, fresh from victory over Albion the previous week were full of confidence and started brightly only to see a neat interchange between Joel Hunter and Sam Dicken knock the stuffing out of them and give Brewers a one nil lead.
The game remained finally balanced for the first half with both teams having good chances and Vale a goal disallowed for offside.
Brewers started the second half well only to see their centre midfielder Matt Wooley shown two yellow cards in the space of two minutes, one for dissent and the second for a meaty challenge. The same challenge saw Brewers fellow midfielder Joel Hunter injured by his own player but without any substitutes he had to play on.
Brewers defended well and remained compact for the remaining thirty five minutes, with Joel Hunter pinching a second on the 70 minute mark.
Overall a good result for Brewers and a clean sheet which will see them in good stead ahead of next weeks tricky cup fixture with Spinners.
