Sun 14 Dec 2008  League
Three Crowns FC 3
Brewers FC 8

Martin Firth (2)
Jake McGarry (3)
Daniel Bailey (2)

League leaders Three Crowns had their Crown well and truly shaken by an up and coming Brewers team who continue their rise up the table but must be ruing their early season inconsistency which could perhaps have seen them much closer to the league leaders than the nine points they currently trail them.

Remarkably the game was level at the interval three goals apiece but the second half belonged to the visitors who scored five unanswered goals. Matt Woolley’s tenacious tackling in midfield unsettled the hosts and with strikers Jake McGarry and Danny Bailey in fine form Crowns looked vulnerable which will give the chasing pack plenty of encouragement.. Despite a first half brace from Greg Mathers and Andy Foote’s sixth goal of the season Brewers second half on slaught was too much.

Jake McGarry made it fifteen for the season with a hat-trick, with Martin Firth and Danny Bailey hit two a piece. Brewers now move up to third in the table hot on the heals of the league leaders.
